Most Engineering classes are held in Little Hall. Click on this building on our Virtual Tour and see the Wellard Technology Center, Byerly Auditorium, our Drafting Lab, the Engineering Lab, and the building exterior.
The demand for engineering technicians within the U.S. should continue to grow —particularly in the environmental, civil and industrial specialties. Competitive pressures will force companies to improve and update manufacturing facilities and product designs, resulting in more jobs for engineering technicians.
The Department of Engineering Technologies at Sandhills Community College offers various degrees and certificates enabling individuals to enter the workforce working in civil engineering, surveying or architecture.
You will be provided with current technology and comprehensive training. All aspects of both programs are taught using a combination of classroom instruction with hands-on application.
In an ongoing commitment to provide Moore County students with the latest technological advancements in engineering, The Palmer Foundation, Sandhills Community College and Moore County Schools have partnered to create the Palmer Scholar Program.
The focus is to expose students to the fascinating and intriguing world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) integrating the Project Lead the Waycurriculum and resources into our engineering curriculum.
Sandhills Community College will be the first NC community college to offer this type of program on its campus. Funding from the Palmer Foundation enabled Sandhills Community College to install a new high-tech lab to encourage students to explore STEM related fields. The classroom is equipped with the latest design software and cutting-edge equipment selected to introduce students to real-world challenges and opportunities in the areas of housing, healthcare, transportation, technology, energy, and the environment.
